| Irving and Jack Schott began making raincoats in a basement in the Lower East Side when they saw a need for outerwear for the new Model T owners. The sons of a Russian immigrant began their quest for the American Dream in 1913. |
| Fully engaged in designing and manufacturing outerwear by the mid-twenties, their percentage of the marketplace grew leaps and bounds when they added the zipper to their jackets and coats. |
| Irving Schott designed and produced the first motorcycle jacket in 1928. Retailing for $5.50 at a Long Island Harley Davidson distributor, The Perfecto was rugged and quite durable and was quickly embraced as the garment of choice for these American daredevils. Still the go to garment for today’s motorcycle enthusiasts and also considered a must for protection against road rash! At the beginning of WWII, Schott was commissioned by the US Air Force, to design and produce a "bomber jacket" that would serve and protect American flyboys. |

| To protect servicemen on deck, Schott designed and produced the classic Melton wool naval pea coat. Known for their rugged durability and weather protection, Schott continued manufacturing leather and wool coats for the US military for the next 60 years. |

Throughout the 70s and 80s Schott Profecto Motorcycle became synonymous with rock and roll especially the punk rock movement. It was the badge of honor for punk rockers that were part of the underground music scene in New York City. Schott NYC’s outerwear has become fashion choices for not only musicians and celebrities, but the fashion connected.
